Encouraging every student to achieve their full potential in a supportive learning environment.

Ladysmith Secondary School is located in the centre of the Ladysmith community, where it was originally built and officially opened in 1952. Our students attend grades 8 through 12 and come from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.  We are proud of our students’ passion, their commitment, and the leadership they bring with them each and every day.

Working closely together, our students and teachers have inspired a range of programs that promote a well-rounded education and dynamic social development.  These programs highlight the unique environment here at LSS, and include improv. club, jazz band, concert band, dance performance, Aboriginal leadership, French Immersion, volleyball, basketball, rugby, golf, soccer, intramural games, student leadership, student council and the hul’q’uim’inum’ language sharing event!

In addition to these exciting activities, Ladysmith staff bring an array of qualifications and expertise that allow us to offer students innovative learning opportunities within courses such as digital animation, computer programming, photography, power mechanics, carpentry and joinery, electronics and culinary arts!  Here at Ladysmith Secondary, our mission is to “develop resilient, kind and curious global citizens who value learning and community.”
