This Week at LSS - Nov 12th
Hi LSS
This Saturday is World Kindness day. At LSS we work at making Kindness our focus everyday. Do we succeed every day? – no way, but we are trying. As the school and home work together to support our kids please encourage your children to be kind.
This week coming up, Ms. Harrison and I will be checking in with our grade 8 students to see how they are doing. From teacher feedback there are lots of positives: cooperative, persevering and open to learning. Cell phone use during class needs to be discouraged – best left in their bag or locker, having an organized binder is important, doing their best to build their foundation of skills and habits and not damaging school property are a few of the things students need to work on.
Gratitude
LSS held a virtual Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 10th. A big thank you goes out to the students and staff who volunteered to help with the setup, readings, singing and trumpet playing. One of our grade 12 students, Caden Teneycke had an interview with a local veteran and we showed a few minutes during the ceremony. We thought you might be interested as well in seeing it, so here is the link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AQ9N4kKFC5Mff_b0cUy56I8HVYOp8-sj/view?usp=sharing
We will be providing the longer version to staff to show the rest in their classes.
Report Cards
As we near the end of Semester 1 Term 1, students have been busy completing work so that teachers can report on student progress. Chat with your child to see if they are up to date in their work. Report cards will come out on the Parent Portal November 22nd. Don’t know how to get on the Parent Portal? Check in with our amazing office staff. *Just a note that some sections of the parent portal are temporarily disabled while teachers prepare report cards.

Your donation ensures PAC funds are spent on students-NOT old toques. Our hope is that the students will NEVER have to wear them.
