This Week at LSS – Feb 3rd

Hi LSS Family

Looking for some great reading material? Try our semester 1 report card as they will be released Feb 8th electronically. But wait there is more. We are going to provide paper copies this time ‘cause it can be tricky to see them online and they tell a story that you need to know. We will have them out to students on Feb 8th at lunch time. Ask your kids when you see them after school on Wednesday.

Consultation opportunity from the District
On January 25, 2023, the Board of Education directed staff to initiate a consultation process to address capacity and safety issues at NDSS.  The Board would like to receive input from staff and the community to ensure its decisions are driven by appropriate data and meaningful feedback.  The Board invites you to read the Ensuring Capacity and Safety – Nanaimo District Secondary School information booklet where you will find background information, the consultation plan and timeline as well as the five potential scenarios. Feel free to comment on one or all scenarios or add your own. You can either email a response or choose a more engaging approach by filling out the Thought Exchange. Full details and above links can also be found here. Feedback will be received until February 28, with a report coming back to the Board in March.
