This Week at LSS April 15-19
Uy’ skweyul Ladysmith Secondary Students and Families,
As we approach the half-way mark of April, we are entering a busy few weeks. Next week, on Wednesday, April 17th we will be having our final early dismissal of the year. Students will be released on April 17th at 2pm, however buses will depart at the same times on this day. Next week is also the next sitting of our provincial literacy and numeracy assessments. If your student is currently registered in Math 10, EFP 10, or EFP 12, they will be writing an assessment. Please connect with your student’s counsellor if you are unsure if they need to write.
This week students self-assessed the thinking core competency in their B-block class. This was completed either on paper and sent home, or via google classroom. Please connect with your child to check out their self-assessment and connect with your child’s B block teacher if you have any questions. Report cards will be released to families on the MyEd portal on May 1st.
Over the past two weeks we have had a lot of work done on our track by our district staff to remove the overgrown areas. The team has been working hard to get the track back to its old glory just in time for our Track and Field season. Practices will run Wednesdays and Fridays after school. Please reach out to Brandie Lewis (brandie.lewis@sd68.bc.ca) or Hamish Thomson (hamish.thomson@sd68.bc.ca) with any questions.
